Job Description:
Our Southwest Georgia Client has an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and dedicated Histotechnologist or Histotechnician with leadership experience to serve as the Manager of their Anatomic Pathology Department. This working manager position is a full-time, permanent placement opening that is open to candidates with at least 4 years’ experience, including tissue cutting.

Responsibilities of the Manager of Anatomic Pathology
- Coordinate the activities of Histology, Cytotechnology, and Immunohistocompatibility laboratories
- Creates quality assurance indicators to improve laboratory performance by monitoring measurements, outcomes, and turnaround time
- Monitors laboratory procedures to ensure accurate and timely reporting and implements methods to ensure regulatory compliance
- Ensures assigned laboratories comply with regulatory and licensing agencies by working with hospital management to keep licensures valid
- Plans, supervises, and assigns work to staff, evaluates performance, conducts training and staff development activities, handles disciplinary issues, etc.
Requirements of the Manager of Anatomic Pathology
- HTL/HT (ASCP) certification required
- High School diploma and completion of an accredited histotechnology program, associates or bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience required
