Dentist

Our client located in Central West Virginia is seeking a full time Dentist to join their community health center. This is an opportunity to provide preventive and restorative dental care in an outpatient setting. At times supervision to dental assistants and hygienists will be needed. The ideal candidate has a passion for working in community health and has ties to the area. New graduates are welcome to apply!

Responsibilities of the Dentist:

• Meeting with patients to discuss and treat dental concerns, performing regular cleanings and other preventative procedures, and establish a plan for better dental hygiene.
• Performing dental procedures, such as extractions, root canals, and filling cavities.
• Correcting bite issues and overcrowding.
• Applying helpful agents to teeth, such as sealants or whiteners.
• Prescribing medications for dental problems, such as pain medications or antibiotics.
• Giving clients sedatives or anesthesia prior to administering treatments.
• Ordering diagnostic measures, such as x-rays, models, etc.
• Periodically overseeing dental assistants and hygienists in the absence of the medical director.

Minimum Job Requirements for the Dentist:

• Doctor of Dental Surgery or Dental Medicine
• WV medical license or ability to obtain
• New graduates will be considered
