Emergency Medicine Pharmacist

Our client around the Saratoga Springs, NY area is seeking an Emergency Room Clinical Pharmacy Specialist.   Work a desirable 7on, 7off 2nd shift schedule. BS or PharmD with PGY2 in Emergency Medicine/Critical Care or 3 years of equivalent experience.

Must have for ER Pharmacist:

• BS or PharmD in Pharmacy   
• 3+ years of Emergency Room Pharmacy experience or PGY2 in Emergency Medicine/Critical Care   
• BCPS, BCCCP or BCEMP preferred

Responsibility for the Clinical ER Pharmacy Specialist:

• Provide direct patient care to all adult or pediatric patients as needed in the emergency department
• Respond to all emergency codes to assist with pharmacological management including optimal drug selection and preparation, dosing recommendations, and monitoring for effectiveness and adverse reactions
• Provide direct clinical review and evaluation of patient specific therapy regimens in the acute care setting and coordinate necessary drug therapy adjustments for individual patients
• Provide direct patient care contact for visual assessment of physical and psychological signs of drug-related effects
• Provides drug and clinical information to other healthcare professionals in response to new and evolving issues related to the care of patients in the emergency department
• Routinely providing medical, pharmacy and nursing staff education/training to promote clinical competency and to ensure appropriate, safe, and cost-effective medication therapy
