Our client in Southeastern New Mexico is seeking a full-time permanent Medical Technologist with a strong background in Microbiology to join their laboratory to support and possibly lead Molecular testing efforts for Covid-19.
Molecular testing experience is not required as training will be provided. A minimum of three years of microbiology experience is preferred. Ideal candidates will be MT/MLS and hold ASCP or AMT certification to be considered for this role.
Responsibilities of the Medical Technologist - Microbiology:
- Abide by laboratory protocol and procedures
- Provides information for patient diagnosis and treatment by performing laboratory tests in core laboratory
- Able to use various types of machinery, lab equipment, and complex computer programs to perform the test.
Requirements of the Medical Technologist - Microbiology:
- ASCP certification or national equivalent
- Trained in an accredited MT / MLS program
- 3 years experience in Microbiology preferred
