Urgent Care Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

A community-focused healthcare organization in Northern Arizona is seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its outpatient urgent care team. This is a permanent opportunity with a four-day workweek, no nights, and no weekends. New graduates may be considered, while prior family practice, urgent care, or community health experience is preferred.

Job Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Provide 100% outpatient care in an urgent care and community health setting.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses and injuries.
  • Perform physical exams, patient assessments, and clinical observations.
  • Obtain and document patient histories, symptoms, and treatment plans.
  • Order, administer, and interpret appropriate diagnostic testing.
  • Manage patient care plans and contribute to existing treatment plans.
  • Prescribe medications and coordinate follow-up care as clinically appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with medical providers, nursing, and support staff.
  • Provide patient education focused on prevention, wellness, and care plan adherence.
  • Support a culturally responsive care environment for a diverse patient population.

Schedule

  • Full-time, permanent position.
  • Four 10-hour shifts per week.
  • Day schedule.
  • No nights.
  • No weekends.
  • Outpatient only.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Certified Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Active Arizona license or eligibility to obtain.
  • MSN required for Nurse Practitioner candidates.
  • DEA eligible.
  • Board certification required.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work collegially with providers, clinical staff, and support teams.
  • Strong patient communication, documentation, and clinical decision-making skills.
  • New graduates are welcome to apply.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of FNP or PA experience preferred.
  • Prior urgent care, family practice, rural health, or community health experience preferred.
  • Experience working with underserved or diverse patient populations preferred.
