Wound Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
A community-focused healthcare organization in Southwest Washington is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its outpatient Wound Care program. This is a permanent, employed position with a strong work-life balance: four 10-hour days per week, no call, no weekends, and no holidays. The role is ideal for an APP with wound care experience who enjoys patient-centered care, team collaboration, and helping patients manage complex wounds in an outpatient setting. Wound care certification is preferred, but the organization is willing to support training and coursework toward certification for the right provider.
Job Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Provide outpatient wound care services for approximately 10 to 15 patients per day.
- Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and monitor acute and chronic wounds.
- Develop individualized wound care plans based on patient needs, healing progress, and clinical best practices.
- Perform wound assessments, debridement when appropriate, dressing selection, and ongoing treatment planning.
- Collaborate with a dedicated wound care team, including a WOCN RN, Medical Assistant, schedulers, and a Podiatrist.
- Coordinate care with primary care, specialty providers, therapy, home health, and other services as needed.
- Educate patients and caregivers on wound healing, prevention, skin care, nutrition, and follow-up needs.
- Document patient care accurately in Epic EMR.
- Support quality, safety, and continuity of care within the Wound Care program.
Schedule
- Full-time, employed position.
- Four 10-hour workdays per week.
- No call.
- No weekends.
- No holidays.
- Outpatient program setting.
Minimum Qualifications
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Active Washington license or eligibility to obtain.
- Wound care experience preferred.
- Wound care certification preferred.
- Candidates without certification may be considered if they have relevant experience and interest in pursuing wound care training.
- Strong clinical judgment and patient education skills.
- Comfortable working in a collaborative outpatient care model.
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
