Our onsite laboratory supports a broad range of clinical services, and we are currently seeking a dedicated Cytotechnologist to support our growing cytology program.

Position Summary:

As a Cytotechnologist, you will be a key member of the hospital’s anatomic pathology team, responsible for screening and evaluating cytologic specimens to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, precise, and committed to delivering reliable diagnostic results in a collaborative healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform microscopic evaluation of gynecologic (Pap tests) and non-gynecologic cytology specimens
  • Identify and mark abnormal findings for pathologist review
  • Prepare, stain, and label cytology slides following standardized laboratory protocols
  • Document results and enter findings accurately into the Laboratory Information System (LIS)
  • Participate in proficiency testing and quality assurance activities
  • Collaborate with pathologists, clinicians, and laboratory personnel to ensure timely, high-quality results
  • Maintain compliance with all hospital, CAP, CLIA, and OSHA regulations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cytotechnology or a related field
  • Graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited Cytotechnology program
  • ASCP certification (CT) or eligibility required
  • Experience in a hospital lab setting preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with ThinPrep, SurePath, and automated staining systems a plus
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
