Our client located in the greater Pittsburgh area is seeking a full-time, permanent Nurse Practitioner certified to work with the HIV patient population. The ideal candidate has experience in administering Pep and Prep and has at least one year of experience in this area. Enjoy working with collegial staff, with an outpatient ONLY, Monday - Friday schedule (no call or weekends). Responsibilities of the Nurse Practitioner

  • Provide primary care and HIV specialty care for HIV/AIDS patients throughout the spectrum of disease
  • Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and according to instructions of Medical Director.
  • Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' clinical problems and health care needs.
  • Reviews laboratory test results and other reports.
  • Records physical findings and formulates plan and prognosis based on patient's condition; discusses the case with physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan.
  • Utilizes electronic medical records system to document patient care.
  • Prescribes medication or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, or related therapeutic procedures; refills medication.
  • Refers patients to a physician or specialist for consultation.

Minimum Requirements of the Nurse Practitioner

  • Master's Degree in Nursing
  • HIV Training and Certification
  • Experience administering Pep & Prep
  • Pennsylvania License or eligible to obtain
