Perfusionist
Our client located in the Los Angeles, California area, is looking for a full time/ permanent Perfusionist to join their Team. Ideal candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in a medical or science field and have completed a perfusionists certificate recognized by the ABCP (American Board Cardiovascular Perfusion). Must have a minimum of six months experience of pediatric and adult treatment and be able to operate a variety of Heart-lung machines and monitors necessary to perform the job.
Responsibilities for the Perfusionist
- Under the order of the Attending Physician, the Perfusionists provides patient care by providing services of oxygenation, extracorporeal circulation, myocardial and/ organ protections and preservation
- Determine proper equipment, oxygenator, tubing circuit, and cannula for adult, pediatric, and infant routine and specialized extracorporeal support for each specific patient
- Assembly and operation of the heart-lung machine and extracorporeal circuits, operation of heater, coolers and cardioplegia delivery systems
- Provide safe and adequate provisions utilizing hypothermia, deep hypothermic arrest, and retroperfusion of a patients circulation during cardiac surgery under direction of Attending Surgeon
- May include operation of devices such as IABP, VAS, ECMO, CPS
Minimum Requirements of the Perfusionist
- BA/BS required from ABCP (American Board Cardiovascular Perfusion) recognized program
- ABCP/CCP within 24mth from graduation date
- CPR
- Six months of pediatric and adult experience preferred
