Requirements for the NICU Nurse Manager:
- 1+ years in RN Leadership
- BSN, Master's degree preferred
- 3+ years of Clinical RN experience, 1+ in Pediatric Critical Care
Summary of the NICU RN Manager:
This position is accountable for the overall day-to-day management of the care and services provided by the department and its related operations. This position is responsible on a 24-hour basis for the organization, management, supervision, and quality of nursing practice and nursing care in the NICU. This position is also responsible for staff performance. This position practices within the scope of the Nursing Practice Act.
Responsibilities of the NICU Manager:
- Provide leadership and accountability for fiscal performance, quality outcomes, employee engagement, and patient experience.
- Manage human resources functions, including performance management and professional development for Charge Nurses and staff.
- Partner with the Charge Nurse team and Recruitment to maintain appropriate staffing levels.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support projects, streamline processes, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Practice within the Nurse Practice Act and adhere to Valley Children’s Healthcare policies, promoting excellence in clinical care and operations.
