Job Responsibilities of the Orthodontist:
- Examine, diagnose, and treat dental malocclusions and oral cavity anomalies
- Design and fabricate appliances to realign teeth and jaws to produce and maintain normal function
- Develop treatment plans based on patients’ health histories and diagnostic reports
- Coordinate orthodontic services with other dental and medical services
- Adjust dental appliances periodically to produce and maintain normal function
- Provide patients with proposed treatment plans and costs
- Use diagnostic procedures, such as radiographs (X-rays), cephalometric films, and computer tomograms, to aid in understanding and addressing dental conditions
- Record patient treatment and progress, including the size and position of the teeth and jaw
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Orthodontist Residency Certificate
- Accredited Dental School Graduate
- Current OR state dental license or the ability to acquire one
