Our client located in the Killington, Vermont area, is looking for a permanent, full-time nocturnist. This is an attractive position with a 20% night differential. It is an excellent opportunity to work in the second largest hospital in Vermont. The ideal candidate is board certified in Emergency Medicine with at least two years of clinical experience.

Responsibilities of the Emergency Medicine Nocturnist

  • 9 hour shifts
  • 14 shifts per month
  • Assess patients and oversee their recovery.
  • Conduct follow-up visits to monitor the patient’s condition.
  • Request the appropriate medical tests and based on them, follow a treatment plan.
  • Develop effective patient care plans.
  • Refer patients to appropriate specialists.
  • Ensure that patients are stable before transferring them to the proper department for further evaluation.
  • Provide instructions for discharge and any relevant paperwork.
  • Maintain the patient’s medical records.
  • Coordinate with different ER departments to ensure patients receive the necessary treatment.

 

Minimum Requirements of the Emergency Medicine Nocturnist

  • Vermont license or eligible to obtain
  • BC/BE in Emergency Medicine
  • Work collegially with both support and professional medical staff
