Histotech (ASCP) – Southern New Mexico | Full-Time
Join a leading healthcare team in Southern New Mexico as a Histotechnologist/Histotechnician. This full-time role is ideal for detail-oriented professionals who take pride in preparing tissue samples that directly support patient diagnoses and outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Process and prepare tissue and cytology specimens for pathological evaluation
- Perform embedding, microtomy, routine/special staining, and immunohistochemistry
- Assist pathologists with frozen sections, fine needle aspirations, and autopsies
- Maintain quality control, preventive maintenance, and equipment troubleshooting
- Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Histotechnology program or military equivalent
- Histology certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- 1–2 years of histopathology experience required (depending on degree)
- Strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, and organizational skills
