Physician Assistant (PA) – Emergency Medicine
A growing, community-based Emergency Department is seeking two experienced Emergency Medicine Physician Assistants (PAs) to support its expanding patient care team. Located in a welcoming region with a manageable volume and a collegial atmosphere, this ED sees approximately 16,000 visits per year and offers a well-balanced schedule of 13 clinical shifts per month (12 hours each, noon to midnight).
This is an excellent opportunity for a clinically confident PA who enjoys working closely with on-site emergency physicians, delivering high-quality care in a supportive and team-oriented setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive emergency medical care in collaboration with attending ED physicians
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a wide range of acute and urgent presentations
- Order and interpret diagnostics, perform procedures (sutures, splinting, etc.), and prescribe appropriate treatments
- Triage patients and manage throughput in a community hospital setting
- Maintain detailed and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Contribute to quality improvement and collaborative team care
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Certified PA-C with current or eligible licensure
- Minimum 2 years of post-training ED experience required
- Strong procedural skills and the ability to manage patients independently
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and teamwork skills
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base Salary: $175,000 per year
- Schedule: 13 12-hour shifts per month (noon–midnight)
