Our client located in New Orleans, Louisiana is seeking a Blood Bank Laboratory Manager to join their leadership team. The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong background in people management. Donor center experience is a plus, but not a requirement.
Responsibilities of the Blood Bank Lab Manager:
- Oversees operations at a blood bank.
- Supervise blood bank personnel, select and train new employees, and implement safety standards and quality control practices.
- Implementation, maintenance, and development of the LIS.
- Includes building lab dictionaries, training of lab staff, interfacing the LIS with other Hospital Information Systems.
Requirements of the Blood Bank Lab Manager:
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related biological science
- Master’s Degree preferred
- MT(ASCP) certification required, ASCP, SBB strongly preferred
- Donor Center Experience is a plus!
- Three years of previous supervisory experience of a minimum of 10 FTEs
- Must have or be able to obtain an active or temporary Louisiana Clinical Lab license
