Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) - Microbiology – Full Time | Northern Arizona Region

As a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technologist in Microbiology, you’ll be part of a dynamic lab team, performing key diagnostic testing that supports clinical decisions and helps improve health outcomes in a region known for its scenic landscapes, strong community ties, and growing healthcare services.
Responsibilities
- Process and analyze clinical specimens using standard and specialized laboratory and microbiology techniques
- Perform culture work, organism identification, and sensitivity testing
- Prepare media, reagents, and maintain lab supplies
- Maintain and calibrate lab instruments; perform quality control and preventive maintenance
- Document results, ensure accuracy, and troubleshoot abnormalities or instrument issues
- Adhere to safety, infection control, and regulatory standards in all lab procedures
- Work collaboratively with laboratory staff; maintain accurate records and reporting
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s degree (or higher) in Medical Laboratory Technology, Microbiology, Life Sciences, or a related field
- Certification or eligibility (MLT / MLS / equivalent)
- Prior experience in a clinical microbiology or general lab setting is desirable
- Attention to detail, ability to work independently, strong problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills and ability to follow lab safety and regulatory protocols
