Job Description:
Our client located in northern Iowa is seeking a highly skilled full-time, Cardiothoracic Surgery PA to join their established team of physicians and PAs. This opportunity consists of a mix of inpatient (surgery) and outpatient (clinic) responsibilities. The ideal candidate is a certified physician assistant with 2 to 5 years of experience assisting in CT surgery and endoscopic vein harvests.
Highlights of the Cardiothoracic Surgery PA
- Inpatient / Outpatient surgical responsibilities
- First assisting in surgery for Cardiac and Thoracic cases
- Daily rounding on patients in ICU
- Call is 1:3 for emergent surgeries only
- Participates in daily patient rounds, writes progress notes, assists in surgery, writes prescriptions, and prepares discharge summaries.

Skills Required of the Cardiothoracic Surgery PA:
- Graduate of an AMA-approved PA program
- 2-5 years of experience in CT surgery assist
- 100+ endoscopic vein harvests completed
