Job Description:
A Dental Assistant is needed in a coastal community in Alaska, not too far from Anchorage. This person would be responsible for providing chair-side assistance to dental providers in all phases of restorative, prosthodontic, surgical, endodontic, pediatric, and periodontic treatment as provided in general dentistry.
Qualifications for this Dental Assistant role:
- Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must have CDA (Certified Dental Assistant Certificate).
- Must have at least one year of dental experience in a dental work environment.
Responsibilities for the Dental Assistant position:
- Patient care, office, and laboratory duties while assisting chair-side.
- Make patients as comfortable as possible in the dental chair and prepares them for treatment.
- Sterilizes and disinfects instruments and instructs patients on pre and post-operative procedures.
- Reviews patients' medical history and medications.
- Prepares materials for impressions and restorations, takes x-rays, and processes x-ray film.
- Assists with office duties and scheduling and confirming of appointments.
- Instructs patients on appropriate oral hygiene and makes impressions.
- Village travel approximately 60 days per season (August-May).
- Must be comfortable in small aircrafts.
