Job Description:
Our client located in western Massachusetts near Pittsfield is seeking a permanent Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their Hospitalist team. The client is offering comprehensive benefits, competitive compensation, and a flex schedule. The ideal provider has one year of experience as a Hospitalist, already Massachusetts licensed, and can start within 30 days. New graduates with a great RN hospital background will be considered. Experience with a focus on Addiction Medicine is preferred.
Job Responsibilities of the Hospitalist NP/PA:
- Conducting comprehensive patient assessments, obtaining patient histories, and performing physical examinations.
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostical tests such as laboratory tests, EKGs, imaging procedures, and other necessary tests.
- Developing, implementing, and adjusting individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the attending physician.
- Prescribing and administering medications, including intravenous therapies and blood products, as appropriate, and monitoring patient response to therapy.
- Participating in daily rounds with the hospitalist physician, nursing staff, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.
- Documenting and maintaining accurate and complete medical records, including progress notes, patient data, and treatment plans as per hospital policy.
Minimum Job Requirements for the Hospitalist NP/PA Position:
- One year of experience as an NP/PA
- Hospitalist experience - preferred
- Substance abuse experience - preferred
- Eligible to obtain or already Massachusetts licensed
- Ties to the area
