Cardiac Surgery NP/PA

Our client is seeking a permanent Cardiac Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant opportunity in beautiful Western South Dakota. This a new graduate friendly position for an NP only with recent pre/post op cardiac surgery experience.   The ideal candidate has at least one year of cardiac surgery pre/post op experience as a NP/PA and has ties to South Dakota. Will be responsible for management of selected at risk or complex patients and aggregate patient populations in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other team members.

Responsibilities for Cardiac Surgery NP/PA:

• Responsible for management of selected at risk or complex patients
• General responsibilities include examining patients, formulating diagnoses and developing a treatment plan for patients, performing technical, clinical and surgical procedures, documenting patient progress and surgical care.
• Responsibilities will include surgical consultation, pre-operative workup, transitioning patients out of the ICU, managing post-operative patients in the cardiac stepdown unit, and coordinating discharge.

 Requirements for Cardiac Surgery NP/PA:

• New Grad NP with recent Cardiac Surgery RN experience
• Experience NP/PA within cardiac surgery pre/post op
• Active South Dakota license or eligible to obtain
