Job Description:

Our client is seeking a passionate Certified Nurse Midwife to join their team of OBGYN's. The ideal candidate has completed a post-graduate program in nurse-midwifery approved by the ACNM and has passed the national certification exam. Must be able to work collaboratively and provide continuity of care in the intrapartum setting including labor and delivery management in the hospital setting and primary preventative care to patients in the office setting.  

 

Responsibilities of the Certified Nurse Midwife

  • Working with Gynecologists and Obstetricians to diagnose and treat reproductive health issues.
  • Performing routine screenings for male and female patients.
  • Ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic tests, and prescribing treatments.
  • Assisting mothers and families through attempts to conceive, pregnancy, and post-pregnancy care.
  • Preparing women for labor and delivery and assisting with the birthing process.
  • Monitoring the health of expectant mothers and their infants.
  • Counseling and educating male and female patients on contraceptives, reproductive health, and family planning.
  • Performing administrative duties, such as taking patient histories, handling appointments, and processing payments.

Minimum Requirements of the Certified Nurse Midwife

  • Completion of post-graduate program in nurse-midwifery approved by the ACNM and has passed the national certification exam
  • Maine License or Eligible to obtain
  • All current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP
