Job Description:

 

Our client in beautiful Vermont is seeking a Multi-Modality Radiologic Technologist for a Days/Varied shift role. Assumes temporary responsibility for the patient in x-ray. Operates portable equipment, operates C-arm, transports patients, and uses the hospital computer system and PACS system. Also performs clerical tasks. May also perform CT scan, Mammography, MRI, or Ultrasound duties and receive advanced certification in selected areas through the ARRT, ARDMS, or other governing bodies.

 

Highlights about the Position:            

  • Quality Assurance/Control- Assists with quality control/assurance programs. Participates in quality control projects as needed.
  • MRI- Ability to recognize abnormal findings and obtain additional sequences images to show pathology and may require the use of contrast. Have the ability to acquire post-processing images for additional diagnostic information.
  • Radiographs- Sets up techniques, prepares identification, positions patient, determines exposure, adjusts equipment following departmental procedures (1) Reviews and evaluates images to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
  • Radiation Safety- Understands and practices radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with regulations and to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
  • Examinations Rooms- Set up examination rooms ensuring that all necessary equipment is ready. Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of the work area. Follows infection control practices.
  • Clerical duties- Assists with record keeping, answers phones, schedules appointments, and prepares changes.
  • Contrast Media- Assists Radiologist in administering (1) Monitors patient conditions and reactions, reporting abnormal signs to Radiologist or ED. Prepares and administers oral contrast to patients per department protocol.
  • Training- Must be competent to instruct fellow technologists in the art of their working modalities.
  • Mammography- Operates equipment as directed. Maintains CME credits as mandated by MQSA. Adjusts techniques and equipment to achieve the highest quality images
  • CT Scans- Performs the necessary clerical work related to obtaining previous reports or scans and other diagnostic information in its proper order for the physician's interpretation.

 

Skills Required:

Required:

  • Completion of formal Radiological Technology training in an AMA-approved school.
  • One to two years of practical experience in a hospital setting.  
  • Advanced training in Mammo / CT / Bone Density or Ultrasound

Preferred:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Science.
