Highlights of the PMHNP Opportunity:

  • Outpatient only  
  • Monday - Friday - Day Shift
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients with psychiatric disorders, ensuring the provision of high-quality care.
  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations, formulate accurate diagnoses, and prescribe appropriate pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions, considering individualized patient needs.
  • Monitor and manage the medication regimen of patients, conducting routine follow-ups and adjusting prescriptions as necessary to achieve desired treatment outcomes.
  • Provide therapy and counseling to individuals and their families, facilitating growth, coping mechanisms, and overall mental wellness.
  • Participate in care coordination and patient referrals, liaising with other healthcare providers and community resources to ensure holistic and continuous patient care.
  • Utilize electronic medical records effectively to document patient encounters, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering to industry standards and regulations.

Skills and Qualifications of the PMHNP Opportunity:

  • Valid PMHNP certification and active state licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Indiana.
  • Minimum of 3 years of practice experience as a PMHNP, preferably working within an outpatient or community mental health setting.
  • Excellent clinical assessment skills with a comprehensive understanding of psychiatric disorders and their evidence-based treatments.
  • Proficiency in prescribing psychotropic medications, monitoring patient response, and managing potential side effects.
  • Strong therapeutic communication, empathetic listening, and interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with diverse patient populations.
  • Detail-oriented approach to documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Proactive and collaborative mindset, proficient in working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
  • Commitment to continuous learning, career development, and contributing to the advancement of psychiatric nursing as a profession.
